A Texas-based McDonald’s franchisee will pay more than $91,000 to settle Justice Department allegations that it discriminated against immigrant workers when verifying their employment eligibility.
The settlement is the third immigration-related pact reached by the DOJ in the past week. The agency’s Immigrant and Employee Rights Section, which enforces anti-discrimination laws related to immigration, remains active even as Immigration and Customs Enforcement continues to step up its work-site enforcement efforts.
