Mayorkas Nomination Hearing Focuses On Alleged Scandal Involving EB-5 Program

U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services Director Alejandro Mayorkas told the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee repeatedly July 25 that he is committed to making decisions based solely on the law and the facts, and would continue to be as deputy secretary of homeland security.

Mayorkas, who has headed USCIS since 2009 (151 DLR A-18, 8/10/09), was nominated by President Obama for the deputy secretary post June 27.
