Two-hundred workers at federal health-care call centers in four states run by Maximus Inc. went on strike Monday, protesting attendance policies that they say make it hard to care for sick family members and themselves.
The one-day strike was organized by the Communications Workers of America, which is looking to organize 10,000 Maximus workers nationwide. The workers are seeking to change policies that they said unfairly restrict time off and limit bathroom breaks.
