A group of hotel housekeepers filed an unopposed motion Thursday to settle a wage lawsuit against staffing agency MasterCorp Inc. for $4.95 million.
The proposed class and collective action complaint and the motion to settle were both filed Thursday in the US District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia.
The workers allege in their proposed class action claim that MasterCorp violated the Trafficking Victims Protection Reauthorization Act by withholding earnings and forcing them to stay employed by threatening them with deportation.
