Massachusetts Union Official Pleads Guilty to Embezzlement

The former business agent and treasurer for a union representing workers at a Massachusetts arena pleaded guilty to embezzling union funds.

Ivar Carlson, 58, of Auburn, Mass., pleaded guilty March 26 to one count of embezzlement from a labor union before Judge Timothy S. Hillman of the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts. Carlson allegedly stole $37,014 from Local B-935 of the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees (IATSE), which represented 32 workers at the DCU Center in Worcester.
