Massachusetts Requires Pay Range in Job Ads, Worker Data Reports

Massachusetts will require businesses to include pay ranges in job postings and larger employers to report on the race and gender breakdown of their workforces, potentially including wage data in the future, under legislation that Gov. Maura Healey (D) signed into law.

The law’s passage adds Massachusetts to a growing list of states advancing salary transparency requirements with the aim of combating a persistent pay gap suffered by women and workers of color.
