Massachusetts employers will have to offer reasonable accommodations to pregnant workers and can’t discriminate against them for requesting work modifications under legislation that unanimously passed both chambers of the legislature.
The Massachusetts Pregnant Workers Fairness Act now heads to Gov. Charlie Baker (R), who indicated a willingness to sign it into law.
The Senate passed the bill by a 30-0 vote on June 29. The House version of the bill (H3680) unanimously passed last month.
