Over 2,300 interns and fellows at Mass General Brigham hospitals have voted to unionize, becoming the largest group of organized medical residents in the nation.
The election held over the course of a week resulted in 1,215 ballots for union representation and 412 against. There were 119 challenged and four voided ballots, which won’t change election results, a National Labor Relations Board spokesperson said Thursday.
The unit consists of interns, resident, chief residents, and fellows employed by all Mass General Brigham hospitals, including Mass General Hospital and Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston. The house staff, which is generally defined ...
