Manufacturer to Pay $4 Million to Settle Vaccine Policy Lawsuit

An Oklahoma compressor packaging manufacturer will pay $4.3 million to over 40 workers and provide other relief to settle a religious and disability discrimination lawsuit filed by the US Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.

The EEOC alleged that in fall 2021 A G Equipment of Broken Arrow, Okla. mandated Covid-19 vaccination for all employees without allowing religious or medical exemptions, and fired workers who requested accommodations. The company’s actions violated Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and the Americans with Disabilities Act, which prohibit religious and disability-based discrimination, the agency said.
