The House Education and Labor Committee will meet Sept. 25 to mark up a major labor reform bill that would substantially change employer and employee relationships if enacted, a committee aide told Bloomberg Law.
Before returning from recess House Democrats indicated they intended to push the union-backed Protecting the Right to Organize Act (H.R. 2474, S. 1306), with the ultimate goal of getting it to the floor before the end of the term. The markup is an important step closer to that goal, even if the bill is near certain to languish in the Republican-controlled Senate.
