MAC Cosmetics Workers Want $12 Million Wage Settlement Approved

Workers for MAC Cosmetics Inc. want a California federal court to approve a $12 million settlement in a putative class action accusing the company of underpaying them.

The parties reached this settlement after substantial discovery, mediation, and months of negotiations, Ignacio Maciel and other plaintiffs told the US District Court for the Northern District of California in a Thursday motion for preliminary approval of the class action and Private Attorneys General Act settlement. A hearing is scheduled for June 5 for preliminary approval of the settlement, the notice said.
