Lyft Breaks From Uber on Disclosing California Safety Reports

Lyft Inc. is balking at having to publicly release safety reports confidentially submitted to the California Public Utilities Commission.

Lyft’s objection filed Tuesday questioned the “murky origins” of the proposal that’s part of a settlement with Uber Technologies Inc. The settlement the commission approved last month ended what could have been a $59 million fine for Uber failing to provide regulators with information about sexual assault and harassment victims, including drivers and riders.
