Fairmont Sonoma Mission Inn will pay $1 million to settle charges it shorted workers’ pay at its luxury spa under a court-approved settlement (Thomas v. Sonoma Mission Inn, Cal. Super. Ct., No. SCV-25470, settlement approved 5/3/17).
The average settlement award for the 103 class members is $6,207, with the highest award an estimated $24,009 for employees who provided salon, spa and massage treatments. Workers alleged they missed lunches and breaks and were not compensated for them or for working overtime.
