Jazmin Alvarado accuses Lowe’s of conducting background checks during its hiring process without making proper disclosures, as well as wage violations. She sought to have her case proceed in court and be certified as a class action.
Alvarado’s employment contract, however, mandates that disputes be settled in arbitration. It also bars class actions.
The court rejected Alvarado’s claim that the arbitration agreement was invalid.
