The Los Angeles Dodgers have settled California state-court claims by a 65-year-old veteran baseball scout that the organization released him without cause because of his age.
The Dodgers have re-hired Timothy Schmidt as a pro scout, resolving the case, his attorney, Donald Potter in Arcadia, Calif., told Bloomberg Law Tuesday. Counsel for the Dodgers didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment.
The complaint alleged the club released Schmidt prior to the conclusion of the term of his employment contract a few months shy of his 65th birthday.
