L’Oréal Wins Dismissal of Former Executive’s Age Bias Suit

A former L’Oréal USA Inc. executive failed to show that the company discriminated against her because of age when it declined to hire her for numerous other positions after her job was eliminated, a federal court in New York said.

L’Oréal offered legitimate reasons for selecting other candidates to fill jobs both at and below the level for the former employee’s lawsuit, and the former employee failed to show its rationale was a pretext for bias, Judge Ronnie Abrams of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York said Wednesday.
