L’Oreal and department store makeup counter workers who say it owes them overtime pay won a federal judge’s final approval for a $425,000 settlement.
The deal represents approximately 14% of the maximum damages the cosmetics company’s workers estimated they could win at trial, which is consistent with recovery percentages approved in other settled cases, the US District Court for the Eastern District of California said Tuesday.
Angela Conti and Justine Mora, who worked for L’Oreal USA S/D Inc. at makeup counters within Macy’s stores, accuse the beauty brand of violating California law on overtime pay and meal and rest breaks. ...
