Lockheed Martin Corp. will seek to overturn a New Jersey jury’s verdict that it pay $51.5 million to an ex-employee who claims he was laid off because his age, the company told Bloomberg BNA (Braden v. Lockheed Martin Corp., D.N.J., No. 1:14-cv-04215, verdict 1/26/17).
The jury found that the aerospace giant violated age discrimination laws when it laid off Robert Braden, a project specialist in electronics systems, during a workforce reduction at its Moorestown, N.J., facility in 2012.
