Lockheed Martin Accused of Sex Bias, Retaliation in Promotion

Security and aerospace colossus Lockheed Martin Corp. passed over a female employee for an executive position in retaliation for a previously-filed discrimination complaint, according to a new lawsuit.

Kenda Riney joined Lockheed Martin as an F-16 fighter aircraft contract specialist in 1993, when it acquired the military division of General Dynamics, she says. She moved up the ranks in her new company, landing as the Director of Contracts Management for the F-35 program in May 2011, according to her Dec. 17 complaint filed in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas.
