Lilly Sued by EEOC for Alleged Age Bias in Hiring for Sales Jobs

Lilly USA LLC has been sued by the US Equal Employment Opportunity Commission for allegedly intentionally failing to hire older workers because of their age, the EEOC said Monday.

The company allegedly purposefully under-hired older applicants for sales representative positions in favor of young candidates from April 2017 to 2021. The EEOC said in its suit that in 2017, Lilly’s senior vice president for human resources and diversity recognized at a Leadership Town Hall that Lilly’s workforce was composed of older workers.
