Lilly Reaches $2.4 Million Settlement Deal in Age Bias Lawsuit

Lilly USA LLC and Eli Lilly and Co. agreed to pay $2.4 million as part of a settlement deal in a lawsuit accusing the companies of discriminating against older prospective hires, according to a consent decree filed Monday.

The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission sued in the US District Court for the Southern District of Indiana on behalf of a class of aggrieved applicants for sales representative positions, alleging the pharmaceutical maker used discriminatory hiring practices to select younger employees.
