Licensing Reciprocity Bills Flourish as States Seek Mobile Pros

Legislation to expand state professional licensing reciprocity for hundreds of professions is riding a wave of Republican support as free-market advocates look to knock down barriers for mobile license holders.

State legislators, mostly Republicans, have filed at least 15 bills in as many states seeking to follow Arizona, which passed the first such reciprocity law last year. The change qualifies most professional license holders for a corresponding Arizona license so long as the professional has been licensed for at least one year in another jurisdiction and meets some other requirements, such as a lack of licensing investigations or pending complaints....
