Liberty Energy Reaches $265,000 Settlement in EEOC Race Suit

Liberty Energy, Inc., doing business as Liberty Oilfield Services, LLC, has agreed to pay $265,000 to settle a race and national origin discrimination lawsuit, according to the EEOC Tuesday.

The company allegedly subjected a Black field mechanic and two Hispanic co-workers at an Odessa, Texas location to a hostile environment, allowing the workers to be referred to in derogatory terms such as the N-word, “beaner,” and “wetback.” Though the employees made reports to management about the harassment, no corrective action was taken, the US Equal Employment Opportunity Commission said.
