Sept. 26, 2022, 7:51 PM UTC

Staffers in the office of Michigan House Democrat Andy Levin unanimously voted to approve a union, according to the Congressional Workers Union, the primary staff organizing group.

The office is the first to vote on whether to form a union, after congressional offices were granted permission to form unions in May.

Staffers in the offices of Rep. Ro Khanna (D-Calif.) and Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.) will also vote electronically in their own union elections, on Sept. 28 and Sept. 29, respectively, according to the union.
