A server fired by Legal Sea Foods LLC can move forward with claims she faced racial discrimination and retaliation, but hasn’t presented enough evidence to support her gender discrimination claims against the company, a federal court in New Jersey said.
Suzy Arku-Nyadia is a Black woman who immigrated to the U.S. from Ghana. She worked at various Legal Sea Food locations for 15 years, including as a checker, a supervisory-type position akin to head waitress.
