Legal Medical Marijuana Patient Sues Over Revoked Job Offer

Food service company Compass Group USA and its Eurest Services unit unlawfully revoked a New York man’s job offer because he was an authorized medical marijuana patient, a new disability bias complaint alleges.

Christopher Scholl became a certified patient under New York’s Compassionate Care Act in 2018 because of chronic pain stemming from a back injury.

Scholl accepted a retail management position with Compass in February 2019 and told the hiring manager he was a certified medical marijuana patient. The manager advised Scholl it shouldn’t be an issue as long as he had a prescription, the complaint said.
