Top Congressional lawmakers have struck an agreement to reform the main US workforce development law in a rare labor policy compromise following months of negotiations behind closed doors.
Leaders of the labor committees in the House and Senate reached a compromise to revamp the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act, the main federal law governing the country’s job training system, according to a Republican aide on the Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee.
