Federal lawmakers introduced two labor organization-related bills July 30, one aimed at enhancing workers’ right to organize and the other requiring unions to disclose more information about their activities.
Sponsored by Reps. Keith Ellison (D-Minn.) and John Lewis (D-Ga.), the Employee Empowerment Act (number not yet available), would give workers a private right of action to sue for union membership discrimination under the National Labor Relations Act.
