Law Professor Fails With New Pay Bias Claims Against Florida A&M

A female law professor who previously lost a pay discrimination lawsuit against Florida A&M University failed to support new allegations of sex bias and retaliation stemming from her prior suit, the Eleventh Circuit ruled Thursday.

Jennifer Smith convinced a jury in July 2015 that she was paid less than comparable male professors. But she failed to show the discrepancy was because of her sex, so the jury ruled in favor of the university, the appeals court said.
