LasikPlus Shortchanged Vision-Center Employees, New Suit Says

A former LasikPlus employee claims that the company intentionally misclassified him and others as exempt from the Fair Labor Standards Act to avoid paying overtime wages in a new proposed collective action filed in federal court in Florida.

Mike Pieczynski, who worked as a Center Director at a LasikPlus location outside Orlando, filed suit Wednesday in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida. He seeks to represent similarly situated employees in a nationwide FLSA collective.
