Hospitality workers at 34 Las Vegas casinos are prepared to strike if they’re not offered pay increases and other palatable terms before their current contract expires May 31. The 50,000 union members work at Caesars Palace, the Bellagio Hotel and Casino, the MGM Grand, and other local enterprises.
A job action would affect properties on the Las Vegas Strip and in the downtown area, Culinary Workers Union Local 226 said in a May 23 news release. Members of that local and Bartenders Union Local 165, both affiliates of UNITE HERE, voted May 22 to authorize the strike.
