Land Management Temps Can Compete for Full-Time Jobs

Temporary seasonal employees at federal land management agencies are eligible under a new law to compete for permanent positions at their own or other land management agencies under the same terms as full-time agency employees, the Office of Personnel Management said in guidance issued Dec. 29.

Beth Cobert, the OPM’s acting director, included the guidance—which takes the form of a set of questions and answers—as an attachment to a memorandum sent to members of the federal Chief Human Capital Officers Council.
