The U.S. Labor Department is reworking enforcement priorities to focus investigations on the most serious workplace violations that can be taken to court, while easing scrutiny of law-abiding employers, Secretary of Labor Eugene Scalia said.
“The department’s investigative resources are limited. We should direct them to places where there’s likely to be a prosecutable violation of the law we administer,” Scalia said at a New York University Law School virtual conference Thursday.
