Labor Department’s Health-Care Standard on Track, Chief Says

The US Department of Labor is on track to finalize a permanent Covid-19 safety standard for the health-care industry, according to the agency’s chief, who appeared on Capitol Hill for the second day in a row.

Labor Secretary Marty Walsh is aiming for the health-care industry standard to be completed in the next three to six months, he told a Senate Appropriations subcommittee on Wednesday after two committee Democrats questioned him on the timeline. He also said he’s looking at revamping temporary visa programs.
