The Labor Department wants a federal judge to punish the fiduciaries of a multiple employer health fund for failing to turn over documents in the department’s lawsuit against them.
The DOL on Dec. 1 asked for a contempt order against AEU Holdings LLC and related entities in charge of a multiple employer welfare arrangement (MEWA) that, at its height, provided health and welfare benefits to about 14,000 people across 36 states.
