Labor Board Needs More Money, House Lawmakers Tell Regulators

Lawmakers are asking appropriators yet again for additional funding for the National Labor Relations Board, as the labor agency has consistently seen a flat budget in the face of expanded responsibilities and work.

The NLRB was allocated $274.2 million for fiscal year 2022, the same amount it received last year. Nearly 150 lawmakers requested in a Wednesday letter to ranking House Appropriations Committee members that the sum be bumped up in fiscal 2023 to $368 million “at a minimum”—about a 34% increase.
