NLRB Chair Fails Before Final Confirmation Vote in Senate (2)

National Labor Relations Board Chair Lauren McFerran will likely not be heading to a final confirmation tally after the Senate shot down a vote to close debate on her renomination in the waning days of the lame duck session.

The chamber voted 49-50 in a procedural cloture vote to reject her nomination. Biden tapped McFerran for a second term heading the NLRB in May, and she cleared the Senate labor committee in August. Senate Democrats also withdrew the cloture motion for Republican Joshua Ditelberg.
