The National Labor Relations Board on Tuesday granted a union request to terminate the first Apple store election that had been slated to begin this week.
The NLRB general counsel’s office approved a request from the Communication Workers of America to withdraw its election petition at an Atlanta store. CWA said in a statement Friday that Apple’s repeated violations of federal labor law “have made a free and fair election impossible,” and that rising Covid-19 cases could suppress turnout.
The workers were scheduled to vote in person June 2-4.
Apple didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment.
