Labor Agency Reverses Layoff Plan for Contractor Antibias Office

Employees slated for layoffs at the US Department of Labor’s federal contractor anti-discrimination watchdog will instead be reassigned to other positions within the agency.

A memo sent to Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs staff on Friday said that reduction in force notices sent out in May were being “held in abeyance” and that the agency would soon notify workers of their return to duty in new roles at the agency.

“The Department is actively working to identify a suitable position within your local commuting area for your reassignment,” said the memo, which was obtained by Bloomberg Law.
