L.A. Archdiocese Must Pay $3.6 Million in Wrongful Firing Case

The Archdiocese of Los Angeles must pay $3.6 million to a former Catholic school teacher who said she was unjustly terminated.

Kourtney Liggins, who was fired in 2013, was awarded $3,575,306 for economic and noneconomic losses and for physical pain and mental suffering. Additionally, she was awarded $87,500 from the pastor who Liggins claimed discriminated against her for being pregnant out of wedlock, according to a Nov. 2 court filing.
