A transgender worker in the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transit Authority was harassed, discriminated against, and subjected to a hostile work environment based on his gender, according to a suit filed in California state court.
Jess Reynolds was denied transfer and opportunities, called demeaning names, ignored, and verbally abused after informing LACMTA that he was transgender and identified as male, the Wednesday suit alleges. He lodged a formal complaint against a supervisor based on violent and harassing comments made about homosexual, transgender, or gender nonconforming individuals, but no remedial or disciplinary action was ever taken, Reynolds says.
