A Los Angeles McDonald’s franchise was cited and ordered to pay back wages to workers who said they were fired after complaining to the state and county over unsafe work conditions that exposed them to Covid-19.
The four workers, who participated in strikes at the Marengo Street McDonald’s location over safety and for a $15 hourly wage, must be rehired, the California Labor Commissioner said Wednesday.
The workers complained the restaurant failed to provide employees with masks, enforce social distancing, require customers to wear masks, provide paid sick leave, and inform workers when they had been exposed to Covid-19. As ...
