Essential workers in Los Angeles will have to wear cloth masks covering their nose and mouth starting April 10, Mayor Eric Garcetti said during an evening briefing on coronavirus response.
Calling it a worker protection order, Garcetti said Tuesday that employers in the nation’s second most populous city would have to provide the masks or reimburse employees who buy their own.
The order applies to grocery stores, hotels, restaurants, construction sites, taxi services, and other essential businesses.
