Kroger Workers Fired for Religious Objection to LGBTQ Logo: EEOC

The Kroger Co. repeatedly disciplined and then fired two employees in Arkansas who refused on religious grounds to wear a new apron with a rainbow logo on it they believed showed advocacy for the LGBTQ community, the EEOC charges in a new federal lawsuit.

The grocery chain also ignored Brenda Lawson’s and Trudy Rickerd’s verbal and written requests for a religious-based accommodation from displaying the logo, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission says. Both women worked in Kroger’s Conway, Ark., store, the agency says in the suit filed Monday in the U. S. District Court for the Eastern District of Arkansas. ...
