The NLRB ordered a Kroger subsidiary to compensate its union for lost dues after it illegally stopped deductions from workers’ paychecks, but indicated it was open to reconsidering a Biden-era policy governing dues collection once a third Republican is confirmed to the board.
The National Labor Relations Board in a Wednesday opinion upheld an administrative law judge’s decision from July 2023 that said Kroger Texas LP was liable for dues under a retroactive application of the Biden-era Valley Hospital Medical Center II standard. That precedent prohibits employers from stopping dues collections following the expiration of a collective bargaining agreement. ...
