Cryptocurrency exchange Kraken discriminated against a former head of institutional sales and relationships because she is a woman, planned to become pregnant, and intended to take time off for fertility treatments, a Thursday lawsuit alleges.
The company—legally known as Payward Inc.—"severely reduced” the worker’s responsibilities, according to the complaint filed in the US District Court for the Southern District of New York. In one instance, the male coworker allegedly attempting to take over a deal jeopardized her client relationship when he contacted the other company through an unapproved messaging platform in violation of its compliance policies.
