Kraft Heinz Sued Over Retiree Health Coverage

Retirees from a Wisconsin meat processing plant have accused Kraft Heinz Food Co. of cutting their health benefits and prescription drug coverage in violation of federal law (Gruss v. Kraft Heinz Food Co., W.D. Wis., 3:15-cv-00788, complaint filed 12/9/15).

The complaint, filed Dec. 9 on behalf of about 500 former workers at an Oscar Mayer Foods Inc. subsidiary, argued that the food giant unilaterally forced them into less generous health arrangements without the consent of their union.
