Kraft Heinz Food Co. has agreed to pay $1.75 million to settle state law wage and hour claims by an estimated 1,239 current and former employees in California, according to a motion filed Nov. 4 in federal court (Rodriguez v. Kraft Foods Group, Inc., E.D. Cal., 1:14-cv-01137, motion for preliminary settlement approval filed 11/4/15).
The named plaintiff alleges in his lawsuit that the company didn’t provide meal and rest breaks and didn’t timely pay wages on regular pay days or upon termination, as required by state law. The lawsuit seeks class action certification for settlement purposes only. ...
