Kraft Heinz $3 Million Wage Class Settlement Gets Initial Nod

Kraft Heinz Food Co. and production and packaging workers got the initial green light for a wage class settlement of at least $3 million.

The settlement heads for a Dec. 13 final approval hearing before judge William Q. Hayes in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of California.

Four employees sued on behalf of about 4,000 class members who alleged the company failed to pay all wages they were owed, and failed to provide them certain meal and rest periods.

After mediation, Kraft Heinz agreed to pay at least $3 million, court filings said.
