Kimberly-Clark Wage Dispute Nears Settlement

More than 900 employees and former employees at a Kimberly-Clark Corp. plant in Paris, Texas, may soon reach a settlement in their overtime and wage lawsuit, according to court records.

Otis Smith, a former packer at the Texas plant, alleges in the lawsuit that he and other employees weren’t compensated for overtime work when they worked more than 40 hours in a week. Smith also alleges employees sometimes weren’t paid minimum wages required under the federal wage-and-hour law because the company had a policy or practice of capping how many hours of work it would pay employees for at 12. ...
